Channeling ageless punk energy with a keen sense of melody, Phony gift Emo with a succinct 20-minute LP that introduces tons of great ideas that never overstay their welcome. Once it’s over, don’t be surprised if you want to put it right back on repeat.
2026 Addendum:
After many more years of listening to Emo, I can now sense the influence of early Midwest Emo artists who were bridging the gap between Emocore and Indie Rock. This leans harder into more Indie / Post-Hardcore territory at times, but it undeniably evokes the mid-90s effortlessly. This is also a project headed by one person and their only true foray into Midwest Emo.
