Okay, so this album technically came out in 2022, but since it was the last day of the year, I’ll count this as an honorary 2023 release. This is the end of the Game Trilogy, and by far the longest release of the three. Chinese Football evolve past AND with their (very obvious) influences, taking the jazziness of their previous material and smoothing it out. With themes of expectations vs failures, Chinese Football leave a gaping hole in their chest for us all to see on this nearly hour-long sonic sojourn, showing sorrow transcends language barriers.

2026 Addendum:

My original thoughts on this album remain the same from my 2023 analysis, but I now recognize the “quality” of this release suits B+ Tier better. It's still twinkly goodness for the whole family, though!
