A project eight years in the making, Stress Fractures’ debut self-titled LP is an Emo / Pop-Punk hybrid well worth your time, despite that description being a dime a dozen these days. With themes of loss of innocence and the pains of growing older, there is a high level of energy maintained throughout. A breath of fresh air for Pop-Punk and Emo fans alike.

2026 Addendum:

After hearing tons of this Sparklepunk-style Emo in the years since I first checked this out, I actually think this is still quite remarkable. Despite tons of Pop-Punk / Emo crossover existing, there’s something special buried in these compositions, 10 songs worth five years of songwriting between 2015 and 2020. Many of these tracks don’t exist merely to emulate the Revival sound; they were authentically written at the tail end of the movement, contemporaries of other modern legends. I know I’m minutely dropping this album’s rating, but I actually appreciate it more now than I did then.
